just for a confirmation email. i dont go there but have to have an email for there to join the network. Any way around this? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thnks.

I think you should be able to get an alumni email address for free from the school.
Emory University gave me one recently for free even though I haven't graduated yet. It's an permanent email address for free as long as I'm alive.
Contact the school or the Alumni Association.
