Does any other school ban the use of myspace/facebook at home?

It is a new rule that at my private school that people have to delete their myspace profiles and facebook accounts so we can't use them at all. Just wondering if you know of any other school that does this? I think it's ridiculous that they are forcing us to do something that we enjoy at home. I want to keep my facebook through college, now I am a SENIOR. They're fighting a battle against a bunch of high school students that they can't win. So why do they even try?

Why do they think they have the right to judge your private non school life? My School doesnt do that yours is the first i heard of that does it.
Reply:tell them that thats just stupid if i had to do that id say no way and cuss em out and they cant make u delete it but make another and dont tell anyone about it shhhhhh
Reply:You dont have to bow down to them if you use a secret nickname known only to you. For example, my nick name is boony so if I dont wanna be found by my real name on myspace then I just use my nick name. Personaly I think your school officials are way out of line. How do your parents feel about this, I wonder.
Reply:I think it is wrong to force you to do something that you use at home. I believe that what you do in your home is your business, it doesn't involve the school.
Reply:I think it's understandable for the school not wanting students to acces is on the schools network or while you are on the grounds, but they have no say as to what students may or may not do once they are in the privacey of their own homes.

Thank goodness you can now have a facebook account without having to go through the schools network, so as long as you are not mentioning the school on ur page and have no pics or items that would identify you as one of their students i dont see why you couldnt have one.

Fight for your right to express yourselves freely!
