How do I get people to join a new facebook group?

How can I let people know about our new facebook group for working college students - Student With Jobs:

I'm certain there are tons of working students on facebook, I'm just not sure how to let them know about our new group? What do you reccomend?

How do I get people to join a new facebook group?
Promoting a newly setup group can be done in one of two ways:





1) The wait and see appraoch. I like to set up a group and wait and see who finds the group. Usually these are people that have a smiliar interest and are more likely to stay with the group and actively contribute compared to those that were invited/forced to join.





2) Send invitations. A great way to spread the existance of your group is like a mini viral compaign whereby you invite all your student friends, who in turn invite their friends and so on. This works either by your friends actively inviting their friends or their friends seeing the group your friend has joined on their profile or on the their feed on the home page.





..you could always cheat and post it somewhere were lots of people will see it. Like on Yahoo! Answers. ^_^

Reply:After creating the group, send invites to all the people in your friends list. You can't invite people you're not friends with for spam-related reasons, but hopefully they'll pass it along.





Anyone doing a search on the subject will also stumble on it.
