Facebook = Toilet?

Why do people on facebook feel the need to flaunt their love affair or relationships? I think kids/college students on facebook get a kick out of bragging about their gf/bf on facebook then post immature pictures of them kissing or on top of each other as if they're rubbing it in single people's faces "Ha! I got someone and you don't!" I even think some people just get a kick outta just posting "In a Relationship" on their page when in actuality their partner probably still got SINGLE on theirs, because I used to see alot of that. U guys notice that?

Maybe I feel that way because I'm single and is insecure about it. Now that i'm single it feels like everyone is involved! LOL?

Bottom line, facebook is pretty trashy and awful. I have nothing on my page but a picture of dolls. I only use the website to send my friends messages. Nothing else.

Kudos! :)

Flaunting one's love life isn't something that only happens on Facebook - it happens in everyday life as well. I don't know how old you are, but wait until all of your friends start getting married. That'll be fun... actually if one more person puts their MySpace name as "Mrs. Whoever," I'm gonna scream, lol.

Don't worry though, someone will come along for you. Just enjoy single life while you can :)

Good luck!!!
Reply:I don't see anything wrong with making a relationship public on Facebook, as long as people don't go crazy and show it off excessively. Besides, their significant other is one of the people who will be looking at that profile the most, and I'm sure it would make them happy to see that someone is proud or happy to be in a relationship with them. If things like this really do bother you, there are ways to filter this stuff from the news feeds so that it doesn't flood your home page.

In the end, a Facebook profile is as personal as someone wants it to be...if someone is making a big deal out of their relationship and it bothers you, there's really nothing you can do about it.
Reply:Well, I haven't witnessed this "trashy"-ness on Facebook. Calm down and then maybe you'll meet someone. Being single is not a bad thing. Unless you're really old with no kids and have never been married.
