Myspace vs. Facebook?

I am going to college (hopefully) in the fall.... and all my friends have both myspace and facebook. I have heard a lot of those stories about sexual predators and stuff on myspace... but i like the fact that i can design the page on myspace. I like Facebook because it seems safer.... but it is not as exciting.. it also seems more mature. Which one do you like better and why?

I like facebook better. You dont really have to worry about all the trojans on there like you have to worry about on facebook

you can edit the page


there isnt a million places to upload your pictures to


you dont constantly have those requests about getting applications


and its easier to find the links (:

but if your not interested in fiddling around with layouts and HTML code i would go for facebook.


facebook is more friend orientated.


facebook also allows you to see ALL the things your friends do on there.


most people don't add randoms on facebook, that is more of a myspace thing.

It IS safer! I think it's MUCH more organized as well! On myspace people can change their names and you have NO idea who you're adding. On Facebook you know exactly who you're adding, and what network their from. You have options of what information you show and what info you DON'T show, and I love it. They are also making up new applications everyday to make your profile more pretty and awesome! :)

Reply:You can set the privacy setting on myspace so that only people you add can see it.. And on facebook, it's pretty much the same thing.. People can only see your profile if you add them..
Reply:Facebook. You can't design you own page but I like it so much better. Not to mention, at my college, everyone has it instead of MySpace.

OMG I KNOW RIGHT?! yeah and the whole predator thing DOESNT happen as much as they make you think. myspace is very safe because its up to you for how safe you want to make it. you can have EVERYTHING on your profile private if you wanted and then only your friends can see it so only the people you know and trust can see your stuff if you want. hope this helps
