I just signed on to Facebook to view my kids pictures and see what they are up to in college. What exactly is a POKE and what is the whole send a gift thing all about? Thanks for your help, I am a facebook newbie. :-)

A poke is a way to interact with your friends on Facebook. People interpret the poke in many different ways. But ya its like a way of saying hello. u can poke ppl even if u are not friends with them. Gifts are just little presents u send to ppl on facebook, some u have to pay for and some are free. Facebook Gifts allows you to send personalized messages with icons to your friends on Facebook.

Reply:A "poke" is like saying hi. Or say you want to get their attention. Gifts are just random little icons that you can send to whoever you want. Like a teddy bear, peace sign, or a rubber ducky etc...
