Do you believe we are all connected by at least 6 degrees of separation?

Example:

me --%26gt;

1. my mom

2. her friend

3. her friend's son

4. her friend's son's bestfriend (who is Gloria Arroyo's son)

5. Gloria Arroyo (Philippine President)

6. George W. Bush

Do you believe we are all connected by at least 6 degrees of separation?
No. Not everyone can boast to be so close to political power.
Reply:It depends on who you mean by "we."

If you mean everyone in America, then I wouldn't be surprised at all if the answer was yes.

If you mean everyone in the world, then I most certainly do not. There are some groups of people living today who have NO contact with anyone outside their own tribe/group.
Reply:Well you could probably skip your mom's friend. Doesn't your mom also know her son. For that matter you may also, which would give me a couple of people to work with to connect to the President. (or skip your mom, and her friend's son; do you know her, and does she know Arroyo?)

I would need at least two to get to the President since I do not know him personally.

So I think it could be done.

I do know Andrew Natsios who holds an appointed position and therefore knows Bush.
Reply:I wouldn't call someone I konw who may have spoken, shaken the hand of etc another person a connection. So, no I do not go with the 6 degrees argument.
Reply:No. But if you can find a connection with me...then I will Believe!
Reply:yea just think of all the people you know and all of the people that they might know
Reply:i guess it's possble but i dont believe that in every case it happens. for example i'm pretty ant social so i doubt that anyof the little amount of people i know will have connections to everyone else in the world.
Reply:I have read that it is now 5 people the Internet and jet travel have made it more connected
